Medicine is the science of combating disease and improving human health. Its object is the people of society. Therefore, medicine is closely related to social science and medical ethics. The famous medical historian Sigurst of this century pointed out: "Medicine is a social science. Every act of medicine always involves two parties-the physician and the patient, or more generally, the medical community and society, and medicine is nothing more than a multifaceted relationship between these two groups of people. "Due to the development of medical science and the transformation of medical model, people have changed from the traditional biomedical model to the biological, psychological and social medical model.
Around the world, most countries and regions regard modern Western medicine as orthodox medicine, also known as conventional medicine, general medicine, current medicine, or mainstream medicine. Medicine other than Western medicine is called non-mainstream medicine, alternative medicine, complementary medicine, alternative medicine, and unconventional medicine.
Medicine is divided into two parts: one part is the foundation, which is biological science; the other part of medicine is more important, and it is also the main body of medicine-clinical medicine. In the past ten years, a new discipline has emerged in the medical field: evidence-based medicine. It is to fully seek credible clinical evidence, because the evidence we have in the laboratory alone is not enough to explain many problems.
In addition, medicine itself is a part of science, with certain human characteristics. Therefore, medicine is still a human science and a way of life.
